TESTIMONIALS

Thank you , it was a great few months and Aiden enjoyed the winter speed and power program immensely. Like i told you from watching him throw the other day with his pitching coach , his balance and core strength was pretty impressive and didn’t think it was possible in just a few months at that age. Please keep me abreast of any small clinics etc cause we are definitely interested.

Our son Vincent Grimaldi started training with Athelite Player Development when he was just six years old. Vincent found a love for catching because of Catchermtrx. Every week founder Chris trains Vincent to the best of his ability. He pushes, strengthens, and enhances Vincent’s ability to always do better and to continue building his confidence as an overall athlete.  Vincent is now 10 years old and continues to train with Athelite Player Development and Chris Reyes to further his athletic abilities. Chris and The Staff at APD have always been honest, respectful and open to any questions we may have. We also love the fact that he includes us (parents) in the training process, teaching us while he’s training our son. We are more than happy to continue our son’s Athletic journey with Chris Reyes and Athelite Player Development team.

In 2012, a small, inexperienced catcher came into catchermtrx as something to do on a Saturday and to get a little work in. I quickly found out that Catchermtrx would be so much more than that. It became a home where the best version of yourself was expected.
When I say best version of yourself, I do not mean just as a baseball player. Catchermtrx has taught me what it takes to succeed in life just as much as it has taught me to be a better player on the field. In my first year, i’m not going to lie, it was intimidating. Working with high school juniors and seniors at the time was something I had never done before. In addition, the pace that we work at is fast, you have to be on your toes, you have to be smart, and you cannot be afraid to make a mistake. Looking back now after 6 years in this program, it really hit me that all those things that I had been intimidated and overwhelmed with are the reasons why i’ve turned into the catcher and person I am today.
After my first 2 years in the program, I developed a good understanding of how to lead a group of people. I began to feel a certain responsibility to lead our group and be a guy that kids looked up to. I do not believe that I would not be able to lead a group well without the knowledge and advice I received at Catchermtrx. Learning how to lead is taught to everyone and in great detail which is vital to our position. We have the gear on, we have the game in front of us, and catchers are simply wired differently. Furthermore, along with leadership abilities that are taught, work ethic is not something anyone can teach; however, catchermtrx taught me how to work and realize the core reason of why we do what we do. We all desire success; all meaning every person in this world. But catchermtrx taught me what it would take to achieve success. This was not easy.
Physically, learning to push through the pain and burn. You’re going to get tired and fatigue worse than you would in the last inning of a double header. You work through that and when you get to that last inning, it suddenly become a lot easier. Mentally, the attention to detail is so stressed because these are the things that can protect you, make you quicker, and make the position easier. Something as little as where your target is set up is crucial to your ability to succeed behind the plate.
Most importantly, the relationships I have formed with my coaches is something I never will take for granted. They have become family to me. Through tough love, success, and detailed discussions about the position have all made our relationship stronger. I am going to miss them and everything they teach next off season when i’m in college. We always say “this becomes your home” and I will definitely be back when I am home next year. So, thank you Coach Reyes, Downey, Cantwell, BA, Brennan, and many many more that have made catchermtrx such an amazing impact to my life.

Chris Reyes and The Catchermtrx Program has been a great asset with the development of my son Kes Barrios #20. He is a great role model and mentor. He exhibits a unique sense of interest and his insights and direction are always on target. I feel very supported and championed in the attainment of my son goals. He has been a vital resource to our son and I look forward to our continuing relationship. Thank you for both your coaching and the lively, worthwhile training sessions you provide to him.
